Digital tools to save endangered languages

An interesting article on the BBC website reporting on research carried out by K David Harrison, an associate professor of linguistics at Swarthmore College and a National Geographic Fellow. Dr Harrison claims that while globalisation and modern media exert pressures on small cultures to assimilate, they also can help to document and keep alive endangered languages as many minority communities are heavy users of social media and mobile technologies.
